Prost8 partners with ebay for charity

Prost8 have partnered with ebay for charity to launch two huge celebrity led auctions in aid of prostate cancer this year and every year ongoing.

The first in June is a unique Celebrity Auction comprising of a collection lots never seen before, including some incredible memorabilia and signed items, a host of vip meet and greets, a selection of ‘lunch with the stars’ experiences and some real one off ‘surprise’ lots too.

The second in October will have a ‘Once in a Lifetime’ and ‘Money Can’t Buy’ theme with some equally amazing auction lots.

Funds raised will power a huge PR campaign to educate men, and their family and friends, about the early signs of prostate cancer.  It is a fact that caught early prostate cancer is one of the most survivable cancers, yet caught too late is is one of the least.

The Importance of Early Diagnosis

Sadly, as prostate cancer usually has no obvious signs in the early years, far too many men are diagnosed at the advanced stage which means highly invasive treatments (such as surgery or radiotherapy) are all that is available, which lead to undesirable lifestyle outcomes such as permanent incontinence and erectile dysfunction.  Worse still, caught late prostate cancer is too often terminal.

Prost8 UK aims to turn the tide and ensure that much earlier awareness, screening and diagnosis is right up there in importance, which essential to bring prostate cancer in line with the advances that breast cancer has achieved in the last 20 years or so.

Biggest Non-Profit UK Crowdfunder

The ebay for charity auctions support the Prost8 UK Crowdfunding campaign in partnership with GoFundMe which aims to be the biggest ever single UK crowdfunder.  The aim is to raise £500,000 for each of the 14 NHS UK regions to buy each a brand new type of treatment device for prostate cancer known as  HIFU, high intensity focal ultrasound, over the next 3 to 5 years.  This will provide literally 1000’s of men with early stage prostate cancer in England, Scotland, Wales and N.Ireland to benefit from a far less invasive treatment option than those currently on offer.
